As the first Nigerian to host an opening session at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), popular disc jockey Florence Otedola professionally known as DJ Cuppy makes history.
Cuppy moderated the Youth Action Day at the 2024 United Nations General Assembly, with the title "The Summit of the Future - Youth Actions Day."
After giving her keynote address, the daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola performed musically in addition to serving as a moderator.
Among the notable figures in attendance at the inaugural session, in which DJ Cuppy presided, were internationally recognized figures like H.E. José Maria Neves, President of Cabo Verde, and Felipe Paullier, Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs. On Friday, September 20, 2024, the opening ceremony was held in the General Assembly Hall at the UN headquarters in New York. After serving as moderator from 13:00 to 14:00 (New York Time), Cuppy gave a farewell performance at 19:00.
