Mr Peter Obi Marked International Day of the Girl Child With 120M Donation to Holy Rosary Sisters

Former Presidential Aspirant Mr. Peter Obi Marked International Day of the Girl Child yesterday with a 120M Donation to Holy Rosary Sisters and 20M of it to the all-girls Holy Rosary Secondary School.

On 11th October, the International Day of the Girl Child is being recognized and celebrated across the globe. This day is dedicated to every girl child to state the importance of girls’ education and societal empowerment.

This year 2024’s theme is ‘Girls Vision for the Future,’ and Mr Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential Candidate used the opportunity to visit the Holy Rosary Sisters in Nsugbe, Anambra state where he donated 120 million mainly for the educational and health support of the Holy Rosary sisters. 20 million of the donations was specifically allocated to the Holy Rosary Secondary School to empower the girl child's education. 

Peter Obi promised to visit other schools and use this opportunity to remind society of the importance of investing in girls’ child education. He encouraged everyone to empower women to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in the society.
