James Harrison passed away at the age of 88 after donating blood more than 1,100 times over 60 years, helping to save more than two million infants.

James Harrison is an Australian who is also known as the "man with a golden arm.  According to the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, this is because he possessed the "precious antibody in his blood," which was utilized to create the "lifesaving medication called Anti-D, given to mothers whose blood is at risk of attacking their unborn babies. "

According to his family, on February 17, Harrison passed away while sleeping at Peninsula Village Nursing Home on the Central Coast of New South Wales.

The History of James Harrison Blood Donation?

Harrison started very early in life. At the age of 18, he began giving his blood plasma and kept on with it until he was 81. He did it every two weeks.

He held the world record for the most blood plasma donated in 2005 until 2022, when a guy from the US surpassed him.

His family is so proud of him, according to his daughter, Tracy Mellowship, "He is very proud to have saved so many lives, without any cost or pain. He always said it does not hurt, and the life you save could be your own," she continued.
